Sri Lankan Cinnamon Grades Explained: Alba, C5 & C4

Sri Lanka is the world's standard-bearer for Ceylon Cinnamon. To ensure quality, quills are graded based on quill diameter, density, color, and aroma. Here is the official guide by Amber & Bark (also known as Amber and Bark).

1. Alba Grade (Ultra-Fine & Rare)

Alba is the thinnest, rarest, and most expensive grade of Ceylon cinnamon in the world. Measuring less than 6mm in diameter (pencil thin), Alba quills are hand-rolled exclusively from the soft inner bark of tender young shoots.

2. C5 Special Grade (Amber & Bark Flagship)

C5 Special is our signature grade. Measuring 10-12mm in diameter, C5 quills strike the ideal balance of intense sweet floral aroma, delicate paper-thin layers, and rich golden-amber tone.

3. C4 Grade

C4 Grade quills are slightly thicker (13-15mm) than C5, providing robust aromatic depth suitable for gourmet culinary production, brewing, and commercial kitchens.
